Veteran Nashville publicist Mike Hyland retiring

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE - Music industry publicist Mike Hyland, who has worked with The Allman Brothers Band, Minnie Pearl, Procol Harum and other stars, is calling it quits at the end of the year. <br> <br> Hyland suffered his second heart attack in January, then had coronary-bypass surgery. <br> <br> He said his surgery was successful, but he decided his health is more important than running his business. <br> <br> Hyland has run Full Court Press for the past six years. He and wife Phyllis may move to California or Texas. <br> <br> Hyland worked at Atlantic Records in New York in the late 1960s, then was a vice president at Capricorn Records in Macon, Georgia, in the 1970s. He ran an independent public relations firm in Nashville in the 1980s, then was hired by Gaylord Entertainment in the 1990s, promoting the Ryman Auditorium, the Wildhorse Saloon and other Nashville venues. <br> <br> Full Court Press clients included the Bluebird Cafe, Riders in the Sky and Audium Records.
