Gates said to be newest member of Augusta National

AUGUSTA - An Augusta radio station is reporting that Bill Gates is the newest member of Augusta National. <br> <br> WGAC quotes three unnamed sources close to the golf club as saying the chairman of Microsoft Corporation has joined. <br> <br> A spokeswoman for the club said Friday the Augusta National does not discuss information about its membership. <br> <br> The club has been mired in controversy over its refusal to let women join. <br> <br> The former chief executive of CBS -- Thomas Wyman -- is the first member of the club to resign in protest over its refusal to admit women. He announced his resignation in a letter November 27 to club chairman Hootie Johnson.
