HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA - Anthony Hayes scored 24 points on 7-of-11 shooting to lead five Alabama A&M players in double figures as the Bulldogs defeated Savannah State 97-78 Monday night. <br>

Hayes was also 8-of-8 from the free throw line, where the Bulldogs held a decisive edge over the Tigers Alabama A&M made 33 of 41 free-throw attempts, while Savannah State was only 10-of-15 from the line. <br>

Alabama A&M (1-3) built a 58-39 halftime lead on strength of 6-of-14 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc and 20-of-24 shooting from the free-throw line. <br>

Terry Horton scored 18 points in just 10 minutes off the bench for the Bulldogs, who also got 15 points from Scotty Jones, 11 from Otis Walker and 10 from Obie Trotter. <br>

Savannah State (0-4) was led by Carlos Smalls' 16 points. Jamal Daniels and Donald Carson added 12 apiece.
