COLLEGE PARK, MARYLAND - The 20th-ranked Maryland Terrapins began on-field preparations this week for their New Year's Eve game against the Tennessee Volunteers at the Peach Bowl.
Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen will suspend practice next week to allow his players to prepare for exams.
Last year, Friedgen worked the team during exam week before the Orange Bowl. The results were disastrous -- the Terps fared poorly in the classroom and on the field. Maryland lost to Florida, 56-23.
