ATLANTA - A Fulton County Assistant District Attorney was suspended after being charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly fighting with an officer at Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport.
Shannon Leigh Love, 30, was parked at a curb of the North Terminal on Saturday night while waiting for her elderly mother. Authorities said an officer told her she couldn't park there, and Love asked for the officer's name.
Police said she then got out of her car and ripped the officer's badge from his clothes. The two struggled until other officers helped restrain her.
Love's lawyer, Steve Lister, said she did not know the man was an officer because he was dressed in black fatigues.
Love was taken to Clayton County Jail, charged with disorderly conduct, illegal parking, obstruction and damage to government property.
A spokesman for the district attorney's office said Love has been suspended while District Attorney Paul Howard considers her permanent status with the office.
