LAWRENCEVILLE - A judge has refused to dismiss a defamation lawsuit filed by the executive director of the Atlanta Humane Society against a Lawrenceville resident.
Humane Society director Bill Garrett filed the $75,000 suit against cat-rescuer Kathi Mills after she described Garrett as ``Mr. Kill'' in an Internet chat room last year.
Attorneys for the Humane Society and Garrett say 32-year-old Mills harmed the reputation of Garrett and the AHS with her posted comments.
Gwinnett Superior Court Judge William Ray did, however, dismiss the portion of the lawsuit filed against Mills by the Atlanta Humane Society.
Mills' attorney -- Rob Adelson -- says he may soon file an appeal to Ray's ruling.
