DECATUR - DeKalb County health officials are expected to complete tuberculosis testing for 2,000 staff and students Friday at Redan High School.
A spokeswoman for the county health board says test results should be available by the middle of next week. Officials from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Georgia Division of Public Health have provided the county with testing kits and experts to analyze data.
County health officials began testing for the infectious airborne disease on December 6 when they learned that a person at the school tested postive for an active form of the bacterial disease.
That person has been removed from school and currently is receiving treatment.
