Reed, Tuggle, Brunner inducted in Div II Hall of Fame

FLORENCE, ALABAMA - Three former NFL players were inducted Friday night into the Division II Football Hall of Fame. <br>

Inducted at a banquet on the eve of the Division II national championship game were quarterback Scott Brunner, receiver Andre Reed and linebacker Jessie Tuggle. <br>

Brunner led Delaware to the 1979 Division II national championship, passing for 2,401 yards and a school-record 24 touchdowns. In the NFL, Brunner helped lead the New York Giants to the playoffs. He also played for the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals, passing for 6,457 yards and 29 touchdowns in a six-year career. <br>

Reed was a four-year letterman at Kutztown from 1981-84, catching 142 passes for 2,002 yards and 14 touchdowns. A fourth-round draft choice, he played for Buffalo for 15 years and helped lead the Bills to four consecutive Super Bowls. He also played one season with the Washington Redskins. Reed finished his career among the NFL's all-time leaders with 951 receptions for 13,198 yards and 87 touchdowns. <br>

Tuggle was a four-year-letterman at Valdosta State from 1983-86 and left as the Blazers' all-time leading tackler with 340. After signing as a free agent, Tuggle started at middle linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons from 1989-2000. He had 12 seasons with more than 100 tackles and played in the Pro Bowl five times. He holds the NFL career record for touchdowns scored off fumble recoveries - five.
