LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett County commissioners are expected to vote on high-power transmission lines Tuesday.
The power line debate has escalated as some residents between Grayson and Lawrenceville are protesting a plan by the Municipal Electric Association of Georgia to put new transmission lines in their area.
Commission John Dunn says the county's lawyers are still working on how the county should proceed. But he has said he would favor a moratorium to give state lawmakers time to form policy for handling future conflicts between power company and citizens.
He says a recent Superior Court ruling that overturned Cobb County's nine-month ban could affect Gwinnett County's decision. He says he's not sure whether the county can legally set up a moratorium on the lines.
