ATLANTA - Police are still searching Monday morning for a man who escaped from the Fulton County jail just before dawn Friday.
Twenty-two-year-old Quwan Rogers of College Park has been described as dangerous by the sheriff's office.
Police say Rogers and his cellmate, 33-year-old Octavio Diaz of Atlanta, crept down a rope made out of a bedsheet after escaping from their sixth-floor cell through a ventilation vent.
Diaz fell to the ground and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Rogers, who was jailed October 10 on charges including false imprisonment, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, aggravated sodomy and rape, is still missing.
East Point police Captain Patricia Boyce says Rogers was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl, hitting her in the face with a rifle and threatening to kill her.
