Dougherty County police have arrested Greg Rakestrau, a 19-year-old Albany Tech student, on murder charges.
Assistant Dougherty County Police Chief Jeremy French says the stabbing apparently was after an argument over a girl.
Eighteen-year-old Adrian Earl Jenkins the Third was stabbed once in his leg, twice in the stomach and once in his chest. Paramedics took Jenkins to Palmyra Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses said Rakestrau and Jenkins were both on the dance floor when an argument began. Several witnesses told investigators they saw Rakestrau stab Jenkins.
Rakestrau, convicted of vehicle burglary last year, remained jailed with bond denied at a court hearing Tuesday.
