BRUNSWICK - The Interstate 95 rest stop in Glynn County was closed for two hours Sunday to allow police bomb technicians to deal with a strange package that only turned out to be a 24-pound package of spoiled hot dogs.
Corporal Mike Young of the Georgia State Patrol says someone must have thrown away the package when it thawed early. A rest stop worker found the suspicious-looking package in a trash can.
Rest stop workers have been told to be alert for strange packages since the September 11th terrorist attacks.
