Teen released on bond; toddler recovering from shooting

ATLANTA - A teenager accused of accidentally shooting his stepbrother at a northeast Atlanta home was released on bond Thursday night. <br> <br> Carl Lewis, 17, was charged with aggravated assault Wednesday night after his stepbrother, Quincey Lewis, was shot in the neck. <br> <br> The teen told police he thought the .22-caliber rifle he found in a closet was a toy. Police said the two were among family members visiting the home for Christmas. Authorities said the rifle belonged to an adult who lived there. <br> <br> Lewis was released from jail on a $5,000 bond. He is scheduled for trial Jan. 31. If convicted, he could receive up to 20 years in prison. <br> <br> The boys&#39; father, Vince Lewis, said his youngest son was recovering from surgery.
