TACOMA, WASHINGTON - A woman reported to be the winner of a $93 million Mega Millions prize has been arrested on fraud and other charges, the Pierce County sheriff's office reported.
Twenty-seven-year-old Hillary Walls of Lakewood, was arrested Tuesday morning, said Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer. She had told a Tacoma television station last night that she was the big winner.
It was not immediately clear whether she had actually won the Mega Millions jackpot. Earlier, Washington State Lottery officials had said a Grays Harbor County woman won the jackpot.
Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyers says, ``She's written bad checks, forgery, fraud, theft, you name it.''
Troyer also said that police do not believe the Lakewood woman has the winning ticket, and they also believe she is actually a man rather than a woman.
Walls' former landlord claims she stole $6,000 from him.
