Two charged with bilking investors

CHICAGO - A suburban Chicago man and his colleague are charged with scheming to bilk about $22 million from more than two dozen investors. <br> <br> Forty-two-year-old August Ghilarducci of West Chicago was charged Thursday with 16 counts of wire fraud and eight counts of money laundering. <br> <br> Fifty-three-year-old Ronald Richardson of Acworth, Georgia, was charged with eight counts of wire fraud and three counts of money laundering. <br> <br> Prosecutors say the men sold various financial instruments to clients between March 1996 and June 2001. <br> <br> They say the two promised their clients substantial profits from international bank trading programs when they knew the investments had little or no value. <br> <br> Richardson&#39;s phone number is unlisted. A call to Ghilarducci&#39;s home went unanswered.
