BRUNSWICK - A human skull and other skeletal remains were discovered in a wooded area in Glynn County over the weekend, authorities said.
The remains of an unidentified adult were found about 11 a.m. Sunday near Everett, said Lt. Ted McDonald of the Glynn County Police.
The remains were sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in Atlanta for DNA tests, according to McDonald.
``We are investigating this as a homicide until proven otherwise,'' he said. ``There was no obvious sign or injury or trauma to the bones that we've recovered.''
The bones may have been at the site for at least a year, McDonald said. The remains were too decomposed to immediately determine the age, sex or race of the person.
