Man killed by train

GROVETOWN - A Hephzibah man died after he being hit by a freight train in east Georgia. <br> <br> William Gene Joyner, 25, was walking along the CSX tracks about 3 a.m. Thursday, Columbia County Deputy Coroner Vernon Collins said. <br> <br> ``The engineer said he was blowing his horn as he was going through the crossing,&#39;&#39; Collins said. ``He saw the guy walking along the edge of the crossties.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Collins said Joyner ``turned around and looked but kept on walking. The engineer applied his emergency brakes but wasn&#39;t able to stop in time.&#34;
