DAWSONVILLE - Gordon Pirkle has been named chairman of the board of directors at Thunder Road USA, the racing hall of fame and museum located in Dawsonville.
Pirkle is a native of Dawsonville and says he would like to see the community get more involved in Thunder Road USA.
"I want people to know that they would normally spend thousands of dollars traveling around seeing everything they can see in this building for $8.50," Pirkle said. "Thunder Road USA provides the most family fun at a great value."
Pirkle, a seventh-generation Dawsonville native, said it's been his dream to see "something like this (Thunder Road) in Dawsonville..."
