MINNEAPOLIS - The pilots union at Northwest Airlines is concerned about the carrier's proposed alliance with Delta and Continental.
The union worries the alliance could hurt job security, income and work rules.
Union spokesman Will Holman says that under its contract, the Air Line Pilots Association could veto the alliance.
Holman says the union wants to make sure there won't be a decrease in flying by Northwest's 6,000 pilots.
Earlier this month, the U.S. Department of Transportation delayed for the third time its decision about the alliance. The deadline for a ruling was pushed back to late December.
Northwest says it's working with its pilots union to give members information they need to make a decision about the alliance.
