TALLAHASSEE - Florida State will be without as many as three running backs for Saturday's annual grudge match against Florida, with freshman Leon Washington slated to start.
Running back Willie Reid, who separated his shoulder against Georgia Tech on Nov. 9, said he would be available to play in an emergency.
``I'm still real sore,'' Reid said. ``I could play if someone gets hurt, but right now my plans are not to play.''
Starter Greg Jones was lost for the year when he tore a knee ligament against Wake Forest. His backup, Nick Maddox, has seen limited action since spraining his right ankle against Georgia Tech.
Coach Bobby Bowden said Thursday he is very pleased to see his team stay focused despite the holiday weekend and Wednesday's arrest of former quarterback Adrian McPherson.
``They've handled it like men,'' Bowden said. ``If you didn't know what happened you sure couldn't tell by our practices. The practices have been good, spirited. The kids have worked hard.''
