AUGUSTA - Authorities say a Bible was the suspicious package that was found at an Interstate 20 Welcome Center Wednesday near Augusta.
Offiicals say a visitor saw the package on a table at the rest stop. Rest stop employees contacted authorities. The center was closed down for an hour.
Richmond County sheriff's sergeant John Gray says that authorities had to treat the unknown package as if it were explosives.

They sprayed the brown-wrapped package with a water cannon that's used to immobilize a bomb.
Authorities say the package apparently was left for someone curious to find. A note inside said that since the person opening it took a chance to open it, they should take a chance on God.
