Storm watches posted for Florida, Georgia, as Kyle advances

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA - Tropical storm watches were posted from Cocoa Beach, Florida, to Brunswick, Georgia, Thursday as Kyle, a tropical depression, moved in from the Atlantic, kicking up a rough surf as it came. <br> <br> Although it was possible Kyle could again become a tropical storm as it neared land, Steve Letro of the National Weather Service in Jacksonville said, ``We&#39;re probably not going to get much out of it. The most we will see is some rough surf, some rain and some gusty winds.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> He said the strongest part of Kyle, southeast of the center, is expected to remain offshore. <br> <br> At 2 p.m. EDT, Kyle, which had meandered in the ocean for 20 days, was about 95 miles east of Daytona Beach, moving west-northwest at 12 miles per hour with maximum sustained winds near 30 miles per hour. <br> <br> It was on a curving course and was expected to brush against northeast Florida before possibly making landfall north of Brunswick on Friday.
