The system regained tropical storm strength overnight. There's now a tropical storm warning posted from Brunswick, Georgia, northward to Surf City, North Carolina.
Tropical Storm Kyle is centered about 65 miles south-southeast of Savannah, Georgia. Movement is to the north-northwest at about 12 miles an hour, with a turn to the north and then the northeast expected by Friday night.
Savannah reported flooded streets after Kyle dumped heavy rain on the city Thursday night.

Top sustained winds are up to about 40 miles an hour. That's not expected to change much as Kyle moves inland. Tropical storm force winds extend out 45 miles from center, with some heavy rain and possible tornadoes expected around the system Friday.

Forecasters say Kyle should maintain some strength after landfall, due to its acceleration and its proximity to water.
Kyle centered at latitude 31.2 north, longitude 80.9 west.
