Georgia man killed in boat race

LAKELAND, FLORIDA - A Georgia man racing in the Orange Cup Regatta at Lakeland, Florida, has been killed. <br> <br> Officials say Joey Richardson of Jesup was killed Sunday when his boat made an abrupt turn and a second boat crashed into him during the first lap of the last race. <br> <br> It was the first fatal accident in the Regatta&#39;s 65-year history. <br> <br> Officials say Richardson was driving a tunnel boat going into the last turn of the first lap of the five-lap race on Lake Hollingsworth. <br> <br> Richardson had been racing a year and had participated in about 18 races this year.
