Vandy starting QB suspended indefinitely

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE - Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson announced Monday night that starting quarterback Jay Cutler has been suspended indefinitely for an unspecified violation of team rules. <br> <br> Cutler, a redshirt freshman, had completed 53 of 99 passes for six TDS and 720 yards. He also had six interceptions and had rushed for 205 yards. <br> <br> Also suspended indefinitely was reserve wide receiver Grant Brigham, who had three receptions for 39 yards. He has returned six punts for 28 yards. <br> <br> ``I think they&#39;ll learn their lesson,&#39;&#39; Johnson told reporters. <br> <br> Vanderbilt (1-4) has an open date this weekend. The next game is Oct. 12 in Nashville against Middle Tennessee.
