Body found outside school for pre-K students

MACON - A janitor found a beaten body as pre-kindergarten students started school at Butler Early Childhood Center. <br> <br> Bibb County Coroner Ed Bond said 39-year-old Dexter Zachary died from a blow to his head and strangulation. <br> <br> Deputy chief of Bibb County Campus Police Stephanie Prater said students were never near Zachary&#39;s body found yesterday and classes continued as usual. Parents still on campus were told about the body, but parents were not called at home. <br> <br> Detective Lieutenant Jimmy Barbee of the Macon police said the janitor discovered the body when a set of double doors leading to the rear of the school wouldn&#39;t open. <br> <br> Barbee said the man&#39;s clothing was removed and lying next to him. There were no signs of sexual assault. <br> <br> Sargeabt Robert Carr said police are seeking 44-year-old Walter Showers for questioning. He already has a warrant out for his arrest on another charge. <br> <br> School board member Betty Phillips said the school has about 200 special-needs pre-kindergarten students and may move to a safer neighborhood next school year.
