Flat Creek cleanup

GAINESVILLE - Volunteers with Gainesville-Hall County Adopt-A-Stream took to the water and shoreline Saturday morning, cleaning up about four miles of Flat Creek. <br> <br> The Adopt-A-Stream Coordinator, Brian Wiley, says interest in the agency&#39;s yearly clean-up effort has been growing. <br> <br> &#34;We...get people out and about to be certified for monitoring and also to help in stream cleanup,&#34; Wiley said. &#34;So, over the past two years we&#39;ve had a much better success.&#34; <br> <br> The volunteers concentrated on a section of Flat Creek around Gainesville&#39;s Flat Creek Treatment Plant. <br> <br> Wiley says it was part of a statewide river cleanup effort. <br> <br> &#34;Rivers Alive is a statewide program in which different counties...beging picking up little right around the same time frame in the month of October.&#34; <br> <br> <br> <br> <br>
