COLUMBUS, Ohio - J.D. Washington had two rushing touchdowns and Kenneth Rodgers caught three touchdown passes as Morehouse beat Kentucky State 45-16 Saturday in the Midwest Heritage Football Classic played at Crew Stadium.<br>

Washington, who is the son of Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington, ran for first-half touchdowns of 23 and 58 yards against Morehouse's Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival.<br>

Washington, the freshman tailback, finished with 113 yards rushing.<br>

Adam Lamb threw two TD passes to Rodgers and ran for a score, and Rodgers also caught a touchdown pass from backup quarterback Duwuan Burton as Morehouse rolled up 426 total yards. Rodgers finished with 240 yards receiving.<br>

Kentucky State receiver Gordon Miles broke free for an 80-yard TD in the final minute of the first half to cut the Morehouse lead to 17-9. Miles caught a 30-yard touchdown pass in the fourth.<br>

The Tigers scored on three straight possessions between the third and fourth quarter.<br>
