CUMMING - The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office has charged three people with burglarizing the recently closed Country Cupboard convenience store at 325 Peachtree Parkway.
Those arrested are Michael Palazzo, Courtney Miller, and Christopher Budd, all 17. The suspects, students at South Forsyth High School, are each charged with burglary and have been released on $5000 bond.
"This convenience store was a popular hangout for south Forsyth area teenagers, and it closed, I guess, on Monday due to the bankruptcy of Country Cupboard," Forsyth County Sheriff's Captain Frank Huggins said.
According to the sheriff's office, witnesses at a nearby business noticed several youths kick in the rear door of the store Monday about 4:00 p.m. Several youths entered the store and took tobacco products and cigarette lighters.
Officers responded and arrested Palazzo as he was reportedly leaving the scene. Investigators said information developed at the scene led to Budd and Miller.
"Budd's vehicle was also confiscated because it was used in the commission of a felony," Huggins said.
