Eagles' Williams has 5 TDs in win over W. Carolina

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Chaz Williams threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more as Georgia Southern beat Western Carolina 41-24 Saturday afternoon. <br>

Williams rushed for 170 yards and was 6-for-10 for 156 yards, accounting for 327 of the 645 yards accumulated by Georgia Southern (4-2, 3-1 Southern Conference). Ezzream Walden rushed just seven times, but piled up 159 yards. <br>

Pat Cilento was 13 of 21 for 209 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for another, but the Catamounts (3-4, 1-3) were never close and trailed by as much as 31 points. <br>

Georgia Southern led 20-3 after Derrick Owens' 62-yard TD pass from Williams in the first quarter. Williams connected on a 40-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Anderson in the third quarter and then came back to Owens for a 26-yard strike. <br>

Cilento then led the Catamounts to 21 unanswered points, throwing a 64-yard touchdown pass to Michael Banks to get to 34-10 and then hitting Chris Lane for an 11-yard strike. Cilento rushed 1 yard for Western Carolina's final score. <br>

Williams responded by marching Georgia Southern 80 yards in six plays and running in for a touchdown from 3 yards out with 8:51 remaining. <br>

Fred Boateng gained 98 yards on 16 carries for the Catamounts.
