Hikers using cellphones to call for help

UNDATED - More and more hikers in the north Georgia mountains are using cellphones to summon help if they get in trouble. But, a growing number are using the phones in non-emergency situations - looking for an easy way out of the woods when they get tired, and seeking help from forest rangers and others. <br> <br> Bob Bolz, manager of Amicalola Falls State Park and head of the state Department of Natural Resources Search and Rescue Team, says he doesn&#39;t want to discourage people from calling in an emergency. But, in many instances, he says they need to stop and think before calling. <br> <br> Bolz says non-emergencies tie up people and equipment needed for real emergencies and other duties.
