ALBANY - The police chief in Albany has admitted he violated department policy by not reporting a wreck he was involved in. He says he will not appeal any punishment he's given.
City Manager Janice Allen-Jackson is investigating the wreck involving Chief Bobby Johnson two weeks ago while driving his city car.
Policy calls for reporting an accident immediately, but Johnson did not report the accident until the woman whose vehicle he hit asked for a police report two days later.
Monday Johnson issued a statement saying he regrets not reporting the accident earlier. He has waived his right to contest any ruling by an accident review board.
