BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA - LSU quarterback Matt Mauck will be out indefinitely after injuring his foot in the 14th-ranked Tigers' 36-7 victory over Florida. <br>

``The evaluation on Tuesday showed he has a significant injury to the mid-foot,'' LSU team doctor Brent Bankston said Wednesday. ``At this time, he will be out indefinitely and will undergo further testing to determine if surgery is necessary.'' <br>

Marcus Randall will start at quarterback for LSU (5-1) on Saturday against South Carolina. Randall has appeared in four games this season and is 4-of-8 for 33 yards. He has rushed for 13 yards on five carries. <br>

Mauck was injured when a defender rolled over his right foot after a tackle in last Saturday's win that jumped LSU four places in the Top 25 and knocked the Gators out from 16th. <br>

Through six games, Mauck was 63-of-130 for 782 yards with nine touchdowns and two interceptions. He rushed for 175 yards and two TDs. Mauck was 13-of-20 for 153 yards and two TDS against Florida. Mauck hasn't thrown an interception since the second game of the season, a span of 88 passes.
