Jenkins leads Valdosta St.to win

CONWAY, ARKANSAS- Aaron Jenkins rushed 204 yards and Buster Faulkner threw for three touchdowns and ran for another to lead Valdosta State to a 35-11 Gulf South Conference win over Central Arkansas on Saturday. <br> <br> The Blazers (7-0 overall, 5-0 GSC) held the Bears&#39; high-scoring offense to its lowest output since a 35-6 loss to North Alabama in 1997. UCA (5-2, 3-2) finished with only 348 total yards, including just 66 net rushing. <br> <br> Faulkner completed 16 of 23 passes for 289 yards. He ran a 1-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Jenkins had a 37-yard touchdown reception and a 10-yard scoring run as the Blazers rolled up 503 yards and averaged 8.5 per play. <br> <br> Valdosta State led 14-3 at halftime on the strength of an 11-yard pass from Faulkner to Tyrone Jordan and a 1-yard keeper by Faulkner. <br> <br> UCA&#39;s Justin Smith connected on a 37-yard field goal for the Bears&#39; first-half points. <br> <br> The Blazers pushed the lead to 21-3 with Jenkins&#39; 37-yard reception with 9:23 left in the third period, and then put it out of reach at 28-3 on a 9-yard pass from Faulkner to Reggie Mosley early in the fourth quarter. <br> <br> UCA backup quarterback Henry Young had a 2-yard TD run with 6:42 left in the game, but Jenkins answered from 10 yards out in the final minute. <br> <br> Mosley finished with six catches for 177 yards and a touchdown for Valdosta State. <br> <br> UCA senior Jelani Lewis tied the school record with 11 receptions for 72 yards.
