Girl struck, killed by car

MARIETTA - A ten-year-old Marietta girl is dead after being struck by a car while she stood on a landscaped median at an apartment complex. <br> <br> Police say a paraplegic - 35-year-old Edward Bogden - struck the girl about 5:15 p.m. Monday. A group of residents lifted the car off Drucilla Evett Jefferson. She was taken to Kennestone Hospital, where she died. <br> <br> Marietta Police Officer Tanya Twaddell says Bogden was arrested on charges of giving false information about his name and date of birth and driving under a suspended licence. <br> <br> Authorities are not certain what caused Bogden to strike the girl. <br> <br> Twaddell says toxicology tests were given to Bogden at the hospital.
