LAWRENCEVILLE - Heavy winds caused damage in the downtown area of this Atlanta suburb Monday, but officials denied reports there was a tornado. <br>

The storm hit about 4 p.m., and most of the damage was confined to one block. <br>

Gwinnett County Fire Department Leiutenant David Dusik told WXIA-TV that the National Weather Service reported the damage was casued by a downburst, which is similar to wind shear. <br>

Dusik said there were no injuries.
