LILBURN - A 40-year-old man is dead after his 15-year-old daughter lost control of his car and landed in a culvert.
The accident occurred about 8:50 p-m Saturday after Alan Currie let his daughter drive home from homecoming at Parkview High School on a learner's permit.
Police say she lost control of her father's 1988 blue Jeep Cherokee, drove into a ditch and struck a drain culvert in Lilburn. Police say the father was NOT wearing a seat belt.
The teenager sustained minor injuries.
Gwinnett County Police spokesman Corporal Ray Dunlap says the teenager probably will NOT be charged in the accident. He says the father was giving her some sort of driving lesson.
He says the two left the dance and were on their way to pick up the father's three younger children from a skating rink when the accident occurred.
