Bragg, Lockhart file for free agency

ATLANTA - Ten Atlanta Braves players have filed for free agency, with second baseman Keith Lockhart and reserve outfielder Darren Bragg joining the list Wednesday.

Lockhart, a part-time starter, batted .216 with five homers and 32 RBIs. Bragg, who signed with the Braves after being cut by the New York Mets, hit .269 with three homers and 15 RBIs.

Eight other Atlanta players have filed to free agency: pitchers Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Mike Remlinger, Chris Hammond and Albie Lopez, first baseman Julio Franco and outfielders Dave Martinez and B.J. Surhoff.

Catcher Javy Lopez decided to return to the team, exercising his $7 million option for next season - a $1 million raise.

The decision was expected after Lopez batted just .233 with 11 homers and 52 RBIs.
