NEW ORLEANS - Domanick Davis, Josh Reed and Rohan Davey highlighted Louisiana State's overpowering offense in a 47-34 Sugar Bowl win over Illinois. <br>

Davis set the tone by rushing for the game's first three touchdowns, including a 16-yard run that gave the Tigers a 20-0 lead. Davis ran for 122 yards and four touchdowns while starting in place of injured star LaBrandon Toefield. <br>

Reed set a Sugar Bowl record with 239 receiving yards on 14 catches. He caught two of the three touchdowns thrown by Davey, who finished with 444 passing yards. Davey guided an offense that rolled up 595 total yards and seven touchdowns. <br>

The seventh-ranked Illini tried to rally after falling behind 27-0. Kurt Kittner tossed three of his four TD passes in the second half before the Illini ran out of time. Kittner completed just 14 of his 35 passes for 267 yards. <br>

LSU finished the season 10-3 by winning their school-record fifth straight bowl. <br>

Illinois ends up 10-2.
