BOCA RATON, FLORIDA - Daryl Dingle scored 21 points to lead Florida Atlantic to a 90-77 victory Saturday over the 2001 Atlantic Sun Conference Champion and preseason favorite Georgia State University. <br>

The win improved Florida Atlantic's record to 7-5, 4-2 in league play. Georgia State fell to 7-5 overall and 3-2 in conference play. <br>

``Georgia State won our conference last year and went to the NCAA tournament,'' said coach Sidney Green. ``They were picked to win the league and we were picked next to last. So, we had something to prove.'' <br>

Florida Atlantic held the Panthers to one basket in the first five minutes. The Owls built a 44-31 half-time margin and led by 15 twice. Georgia St. pulled within three with 10:42 remaining in the game before Florida Atlantic went on a 9-0 run. <br>

Dingle started in place of Raheim Brown, who missed the last two days of practice with an injured right ankle. Jeff Cowans, Brown and Anthony Slater scored 17, 16 and 15, respectively. Defensively, Dingle and Robert Williams had seven rebounds each. <br>

Georgia St. was led by Lamont McIntosh with a game high 27 points. Thomas Terrell had 18, Darryl Cooper had 14 and Nate Williams rounded out the double digit scorers with 14. Williams had a game high 11 boards.
