RIVERDALE - A woman who says she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted by two men on New Year's Day was looking at a photo police line-up Monday night to see if she could identify her attackers.
Police in the Atlanta suburb of Riverdale have received hundreds of telephone tips in the case since releasing composite sketches of the two suspects.
The victim, who is white, says the two men attacked her because her boyfriend is black. She says they knew her boyfriend's name and called her racist names during the assault.
The 36-year-old woman said she was stopped at a traffic light about 8:30 a.m. near Southern Regional Medical Center when two white men in a pickup truck pulled up behind her.
Riverdale police detective Brad Guest says one man jumped into her vehicle, held a sharp object to her throat and ordered her to drive. Guest says the attack was a ``pure hate crime.''
The woman, who recently moved to metro Atlanta from Florida, said she drove for hours with the pickup following before being ordered to drive onto a dirt road. Then she was pulled from her vehicle by her hair and raped.
