Federal Home Loan Bank awards $13.6 million in grants

ATLANTA - The Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta is awarding $13.6 million in Affordable Housing Program grants in ten states. <br> <br> Community-based organizations are partners with financial institutions in bidding for the grants. <br> <br> The grants will help fund construction or renovation of two-thousand, six-hundred and fifty-one units of low-income housing. <br> <br> The states and amounts received in the second round of the 2001 Affordable Housing Program funding were:<br> <br> - Alabama ($534,900 for 81 units); <br> - Florida ($1.8 million for 379 units); <br> - Georgia ($3.9 million for 751 units); <br> - Louisiana ($125,664 for 28 units); <br> - Maryland ($1.6 million for 302 units); <br> - North Carolina ($2.3 million for 395 units); <br> - Pennsylvania ($43,000 for ten units); <br> - South Carolina ($1.1 million for 341 units); <br> - Tennessee ($495,000 for 73 units); and <br> - Virginia ($1.5 million for 291 units).
