ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE - Brig. Gen. Donald Wetekam, a senior leader at Air Combat Command headquarters, has been named commander of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center to replace the retiring Maj. General Dennis Haines on Feb. 1.
The Air Logistics Center is responsible for repairing and maintaining the F-15 fighter jet, the C-130, C-141 and C-5 cargo planes, all Air Force helicopters and some special-operations aircraft.
The ALC also manages the U-2 and provides logistics support for avionics and weapons systems.
Wetekam, who has been selected for promotion to major general, began his career in 1973 after graduating from the Air Force Academy.
His most recent appointments nearly mirror those of Haines, who also served as director of ACC's logistics more than a year before coming to Robins two years ago.
