Two sought in early morning armed robbery

Hall County Sheriffs Deputies are looking for two men who they say robbed and assualted a Gainesville cab driver at gunpoint Wednesday morning.

Sheriffs Captain Ed Barfield says the men summoned the cab driven by Juan Antonio Sanchez, 32, to Lenox Park Apartments on Athens highway, they then asked to be taken to Smallwood road where they robbed Sanchez at gunpoint.

Barfield describes the assailants as two black men wearing hooded jackets. Initially search dogs were brought in from Lee Arrendale State Prison in Alto, the dogs lost the sent on Athens highway.

Sanchez was not injured in the 2am robbery, a small amount of cash was taken.
