ATLANTA - According to the school, the Atlanta Beat is expected to play its home games this upcoming season at Morris Brown Stadium.
The team played at Georgia Tech's Bobby Dodd Stadium during its inaugural season last year.
The Women's United Soccer Association team has been negotiating with Morris Brown College for months about using its facility, which seats 15,000 and was built as the field hockey venue for the 1996 Olympics.
Morris Brown athletic director Russell Ellington says negotiations have been going on for a while and the proposal is just about worked out.
Ellington said he hopes to complete the paperwork by the end of the week. Beat officials declined to comment.
The Beat had a one-year agreement with Georgia Tech. Its move to Morris Brown is expected to be permanent. The season starts in April.
The Beat, which reached the first WUSA championship game last August, averaged nearly 15,000 a game, second in the league. Bobby Dodd seated more than 40,000.
