LUDOWICI - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says authorities seized $300,000 worth of powder cocaine and arrested two men who apparently were carrying it in a truck on a Long County highway.
The GBI says the men tried to avoid a roadblock on U.S. Highway 301 and hide the cocaine in nearby woods. The agency says the arrests came after a monthlong investigation into cocaine sales in south Georgia.
Jesus Maldonado, a 28-year-old from Dothan, Alabama, and 28-year-old Oscar Martinez, of Houston, were arrested and charged with trafficking in cocaine. The GBI says it expected more arrests.
