MACON - An attorney who practiced in Valdosta and Cordele has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for filing false federal income tax returns in 1993 and 1994. <br>

Tyrone Nathaniel Haugabrook The Second also was fined five thousand dollars and ordered to pay his back taxes and interest. The sentence was delivered Thursday by U.S. District Judge Wilbur Owens. <br>

Haugabrook pleaded no contest October 26. An indictment accused him of failing to report about $250,000 he earned from his law practice over the two years. The judge said the crime led to a tax loss of $70,000-$120,000. <br>
<br>
Haugabrook also was ordered to spend a year under supervised release after his prison term.
