GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville woman has admitted in court that she faked having cancer and has been ordered to return thousands dollars in donations she received from people trying to help her.
Tina English of Churchill Downs Drive pleaded guilty in Hall County Superior Court to theft by deception.
In addition to making restitution totaling about $6,500, English has also been ordered to serve four years on probation and to undergo psychiatric treatment.
Prosecutors say English went so far as to shave her head to fake chemotherapy treatments and useda wheelchair to further her ruse.
