AUGUSTA - An Atlanta developer may have seemed like an unusual choice for a golf hall of fame, but pundits say that without Tom Cousins, Georgia wouldn't attract as many high-profile golf tournaments as it does.
The Georgia Golf Hall of Fame held its 14th annual induction ceremony Saturday night. Cousins was included for his work at East Lake Golf Club in Decatur, which has hosted the PGA Tour Championship and the U.S. Amateur.
Two others were inducted. Ed Everett is a professional player from Albany. Palmer Maples Junior of Lawrenceville is a golf course superintendent.
