GAINESVILLE - One of the largest churches in Hall County is ready to break ground on a new 3,500-seat sanctuary.
The ceremony will be held Sunday January 27 at one p.m. on a 155-acre tract Free Chapel Worship Center has purchased near McEver and Brown's Bridge Roads, just south of it current location on McEver.
The capacity of the current facility will be doubled with room to expand to a 5,000-seat sanctuary in the future.
"The building is being constructed to meet the needs of our rapidly growing membership and to provide the very best environment for worship and fellowship for all ages," said Pastor Jentezen Franklin.
The building plans call for four phases of construction. Phase one will include the new sanctuary, children's church, pre-school, and nursery facilities.
Plans call for the site to eventually include additional classrooms, meeting rooms, and offices; a fellowship hall; wedding chapel; gym; room for additional ministries; baseball diamonds; and, a soccer field.
